Close shave for 20 Srisailam pilgrims

KURNOOL: Passengers in a RTC bus on way to Srisailam temple heaved a sigh of relief after having a close shave on Monday.The bus from Amalapuram in East Godavari district hit a parapet wall, six kilometres away from Srisailam, accidentally at the second turning after Sikharam.Being a ghat road, the bus would have plunged into the valley had it gone three feet ahead and all the passengers would have died.However, with the driver applying sudden brakes, a major mishap was averted.After getting down from the bus which stopped on the edge of the road near the valley, the 20 passengers said they remained alive only due to the blessings of lord Siva. None were injured in the incident, Srisailam I Town SI Prasada Reddy said.
