Congress cadre laid siege to police station

TIRUPATHUR: Congress cadre laid siege to Thirukoshtiyur police station on Sunday in protest against the attack on Youth Congress (YC) leader by a sub-inspector. It was alleged that Tirupathur Youth Congress president Srinivasan along with his friends were going Mathagupatti from Tirupathur when Tirukostiyur Sub-Inspector Sendurapandian intercepted his two wheeler for vehicle check up. It was said that altercations broke out between the two in which the SI attacked Srinivasan. He was admitted to Tirupathur GH. On hearing the news, Congress cadre laid a siege to Tirukoshtiyur police station and demanded action against the SI. District Congress president Rajarathinam and others participted.
