Having cornered the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on the PMT scam, the Congress party is all set to give tough time to the government in state assembly on PMT and other scams.
The monsoon session for the assembly begins on June 30.
Congress spokesperson KK Mishra said that the party under Leader of Opposition Satyadev Katare has geared up to corner the state government in assembly and expose their corruption.
The BJP also had made it stance clear ahead of the session, as chief minister while addressing the MLAs in Khajuraho had announced that he never feared anything and would fear nothing in future as well. Chouhan also urged party MLAs not to feel down on anything on the PMT scam, saying that STF is probing the case without any pressure.
However, Congress spokesperson Mishra being asked on chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s threat of suing Congress leaders for allegations against him and his family, Mishra said, “We have all the documeents and proof to support our allegations in court. Let them file defamation case, I am ready to face 100 such cases,” he affirmed.
Significantly, the Pre-Medical Test which snowballed into major controversy as one of the biggest scam in the state in higher education, has engaged the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and opposition Congress if the last week or so.
On Saturday, the Congress spokesperson KK Mishra and others while talking to media persons alleged that relatives of the chief minister played a key role in MP Professional Examination Board’s constable recruitment exam anomalies in which 19 candidates were selected from a single district in Maharashtra.
Mishra had also accused the state government of shielding IAS, IPS officers named in the scam. Leaders of Congress party had released some documents during the press conference in support of their claims.
Furious with such allegations, Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday threatened to sue Congress leaders.
On June 22, Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had accused Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of allegedly being involved in the teacher recruitment scam in the state. Singh also alleged that jobs for various posts in the state were available for a price and demanded an unbiased probe into the alleged scam, in which a former minister of BJP government has been arrested.
Besides, the Congress party has been accusing STF of selective action in the PMT scam, allegedly for shielding BJP ministers and various bureaucrats named in the scam.
Besides, Leader of Opposition in assembly Satyadev Katare has been holding the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan responsible for the PMT scam. Katare on Monday reached women police station for meeting the girl students arrested by STF in connection with the scam.
Alleging that police had shifted the students from the lock-up even before he reached there, Katare alleged that the human rights were violated during the arrest of these medicos.
