BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday issued a bailable warrant against Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Siddaiah for not attending the court despite being served notices in contempt proceedings initiated against him for not complying with the order of the court.
The division bench headed by Justice V G Sabahit has given the option of obtaining bail when the warrant is served on the commissioner by producing a bond of Rs 25,000. Kengeri TMC had allotted a site to A Venkateshaiah for Rs15,000 on December 22, 1986. The allottee had paid Rs1,500 for the site. Venkateshaiah paid the remaining Rs 23,500 on August 13, 1998. Though the Kengeri TMC had allotted site No 101 to him, the possession of the site was not handed over to him. As there was delay in remitting the site amount, Kengeri TMC sent a proposal to auction the site.

The government refused permission to auction the site and directed the TMC to give the site to the allottee and collect 50 per cent of the market rate from him.

After Venkateshaiah filed a contempt petition against the BBMP commissioner, the court had served a notice to the commissioner.
