Corporator, former corporator trade blows

HYDERABAD: Mild tensions prevailed at Hydernagar in Kukatpally on Sunday after supporters of a corporator and former corporator clashed with each other after arguments over protocol row. The ex-corporator and a couple of others suffered injuries.According to police, Serilingampally legislator Bikshapathi Yadav had gone to inaugurate a road and underground drainage works in Sri Tulasi Nagar of Hydernagar division on Sunday morning. The local TDP corporator, M Bhanu Prasad was reportedly given 11 a.m as official timing for the function but inauguration was done well before the time. By the time, Bhanu Prasad reached there, the function was almost over which infuriated him. As soon as the MLA left the place, Bhanu Prasad expressed his displeasure and picked up an argument with local Congress workers.He entered into an argument with former Congress corporator Narne Srinivas and soon they came to blows. The supporters of both leaders too joined in the clash and rained blows leading to tension in the area.Kukatpally police intervened and dispersed the clashing groups. Srinivas and a couple of others suffered minor injuries. Later, Congress workers staged a dharna in front of Kukatpally police station demanding action against the corporator’s unruly behaviour.
