The Daggumallivaripalem colony road in Bapatla was packed with bicycles and motorbikes on Monday with scores of people visiting the house of Dalit girl Devarampati Esteru Rani, who had committed suicide. Local youth were seen arranging the haphazardly parked vehicles in order and making way towards the house.
Relatives, residents of the colony, the girl’s friends and school students visited the house to console her parents Ankamarao and Hymavathi. Esteru Rani, a ninth class student at Saraswathi Memorial Municipal Girls High School, was upset over an issue and hanged herself with her chunny at the school on Friday.
On the fateful day, Esteru Rani had gone to school as usual and given a letter to her classmate.
