Dam row has CSI Diocese worried

CHENNAI: The ongoing dispute over the Mullaiperiyar Dam has left the Church of South India ‘worried’.As per an official statement made by the body, the Church said that reports questioning how the 116-year-old dam could stand any quake over 6.0 on the Richter scale, had left them “worried”. They added that the consequence of this (breaking of the dam) would be “seriously detrimental” to both states, but to “different magnitudes.”They have also asked the Centre and the SC to expedite the legal process. The Church also asked the public to “remain immune” to differing reports that “may be politically motivated.”
