New Delhi: Girls once again outshone boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exams, the results of which were declared on Saturday. The overall pass percentage is 83.05%, an increase of one percent from 2015.
Thiruvanathapuram region is at the top with a pass percentage of 97.61%, followed by Chennai where 92.63% of the students managed to clear the exam.
Recording an impressive pass percentage of 88.58%, girls have once again performed better than boys. Boys had a pass percentage of just 78.85%.
In Delhi, Sukriti Gupta of Montfort School scored 99.4% to claim the mantle of All India topper in the science stream. Palak Goyal from Kurukshetra in Haryana scored 99.2% and Somya Uppal from Karnal scored 99% to come second and third respectively.
The results can also be checked via Android mobile app-DigiResults.
The Board will also provide Class XII digital mark sheets in DigiLocker at www.digilocker.gov.in. The DigiLocker account credentials will be sent to students via SMS on their mobile number registered with CBSE.
The CBSE exams began on March 1 and concluded on April 22. This year, a total of 10,67,900 candidates registered for the Class 12 exam as against 10,40,368 in 2015.
