CHITRADURGA: The D Devaraj Urs Backward Classes and Minorities Development Corporation has initiated criminal proceedings against four persons in Chitradurga taluk and two in Holalkere taluk. Corporation's district manager H N Ravi Kumar told Express on Thursday that six beneficiaries were found fake in an enquiry conducted by zonal manager and enquiring officer of the corporation.
The tahsildar in his report mentioned that six beneficiaries were fake. Based on the report, the corporation lodged complaints against four persons in Chitradurga town police station and against two others at Holalkere police station on charges of deceiving the department. Acting on the complaint, the police filed FIR at Chitradurga and Holalkere courts against the six. Now, criminal proceedings are on, he informed. Kumar said selection of the beneficiaries were made based on documents. "If we detect any forgery, enquiry would be initiated. The final list of beneficiaries prepared by the corporation would be approved by the local MLA," he said.Express, on May 18, published a report about large scale irregularities in the traditional artisans loan scheme of the Corporation.
