Congress MLA from Gandhinagar Dinesh Gundu Rao said the interal bickering in BJP had affected the city’s development.
“No significant developments have taken place in Bangalore in the past four years as the state government is marred with dissident activities and fighting,” said Dinesh at the Congress Workers’ Convention organised by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Sunday.
Though the government spends money, it has no vision and planning for the development of the city. The city civic body and BDA have immersed in illegalities, he added.
“Some of the major shortcomings of the ruling party include, shortage of staff in the BBMP, garbage not being disposed of properly and beneficiaries not getting pension regularly. The poor are not receiving their essentilas under PDS.
The much-awaited Cauvery IV stage, second phase is being delayed,” he observed.
Speaking about the JD(S) party, he said, “In the recently held Muslim Convention, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda said he was redempted from BJP’s colliation, but he did not say he would not support the party in future,” and added, “JD(S) cannot get a majority. They are standing between BJP and Congress and are preventing other parties from getting majority. With their family politics and bargaining tactics, JD(S) is aiming for power.”
He added that Congress was confident of winning more than 20 assembly seats in the next elections.
