A North Dinajpur court on Saturday sentenced Bihar MLA Mehebub Alam to 14 days' judicial custody in connection with a clash between Congress and CPI(ML) at Itahar in the district.
A North Dinajpur court on Saturday sentenced Bihar MLA Mehebub Alam to 14 days' judicial custody in connection with a clash between Congress and CPI(ML) at Itahar in the district.
Alam, elected from Balarampur assembly in neighbouring Katihar district of Bihar from CPI(ML), was arrested from his residence on Friday.
He was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court on Saturday and his bail plea was turned down. Alam was facing charge of being involved in the clash with Congress activists over campaigning in Itahar on Friday.
