HYDERABAD: A doctor injected poison to herself to end her life at LB Nagar on Sunday. Though family members of the doctor were tightlipped about the reasons behind the suicide, police suspect she might have ended her life due to failure in love. Incidentally, a doctor working with a private hospital residing in the same locality ended his life in a similar fashion a month back. According to police, Dr Anand Preeti (27) was working in the ESI hospital at Sanathnagar and resides with her parents at Satavahana Nagar in LB Nagar. "Around 3 p.m on Sunday, Preeti injected herself poison and was found unconscious in her room by her parents. They shifted her to a private hospital at LB Nagar where she died while undergoing treatment,'' LB Nagar subinspector of police E Jahangeer said. The family members, however, told police they were not sure about reasons for Preeti's suicide. It is said that Preeti developed friendship with a doctor Santosh Kumar of Nagole, but his family members disapproved their relation. Reportedly depressed over this, Santosh injected poison a couple of months back and ended his life.
Preeti was also in a depressed state since then. LB Nagar police registered a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) and are investigating.
