BANGALORE: Barring a few unsavoury incidents the two-day organisational elections to the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) was concluded with much enthusiasm on  Thursday.According to KPYCC official sources, as many as 80-85 per cent of polling was recorded in the second day of the election which was held in over 103 Assembly blocks in Northern  Karnataka.The counting of votes polled for the contestants of the state-level office-bearers including that of president, vice president and general secretaries would be taken up on Saturday.Barring an incident of a verbal clash between two Youth Congress groups in Hanagal Assembly block in Haveri district, the polling was held in a cordial atmosphere elsewhere in the state.More than 17,000 eligible voters, who have got elected to the booth committees earlier, had cast their votes in today’s election. Priyanka Kharge, son of Union Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge, Rizwan Arshad, Srinivas and Basavaraj are the top contenders for the KPYCC president’s post.The KPYCC election was held for the posts of the state president, vice president and general secretaries.
