CHENNAI: In an effort to set right the scarcity of farm labour, the government headed by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been pushing the implementation of mechanisation of agriculture.Already, `80 crore has been given to primary agricultural co-operative societies in the State to purchase modern farming equipment, the Chief Minister said. As a result, the farmers, by employing minimum number of workers, would be able to complete agricultural work easily. They can also achieve higher production even with small acreages of land. The Agriculture Department also designed a software on farming technologies.
