PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry Makkal Vizhippunarchi Eyakkam (PMVE) has urged former ministers to vacate their official residences, which were allotted to them when they were ministers. In a statement, P Saravanan, general secretary of PMVE, has stated that both MLA and former home minister E Valsaraj and MLA and former revenue minister Malladi Krishna Rao have still been occupying the official residences they had been given as ministers. Now, after the new AINRC government came to power, they were only MLAs, but continued to occupy the residences. Further, the government should recover the rent and electricity charges from them after they ceased to be ministers. The association also urged the government departments concerned to take steps to vacate the residences that housed these ministers.
