THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A running fan got wrenched off the roof and fell right into the heads of schoolchildren, injuring three kids at Mar Gregorios Memorial School, Akkulam, here on Thursday. The shocking incident occurred around 2 pm in Standard III. The fan fell from the ceiling into two students, Gayathri and Shahnaz, and then deflected off their heads to hit the leg of their classmate, Abhijith. All the three kids have not reported major injuries. The incident has also brought to light the shoddy facilities in the school. Parents, agitated over the issue, said that the school authorities have seldom responded to their constant warnings to upgrade the infrastructure of the school. Gayathri and Shahnaz have been injured on their heads and Abhijith has been bruised on his leg. The parents have decided to take up the matter before the manager of the school on Thursday.
