New Delhi: Ferrari on Thursday denied the rumours which claimed that Fernando Alonso was all set to move to the former champions.
Spanish media had reported that the two-time former Formula One champion from Renault would make a move to Ferrari just before the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in September.
According to reports in a section of the media Ferrari had agreed replace Kimi Raikkonen with Alonso next season.
Raikkonen is currently at the 10th place in Formula One driver’s standings.
However, Ferrari issued a statement denying the reports.
"We are not going to waste our time commenting on speculation. Everyone should remember that (Felipe) Massa and Raikkonen have contracts which include 2010," Ferrari spokesperson Luca Colajanni told Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport.
Alonso, too, has time and again voiced his wish to join the Italian team and was expected to join Ferrari in 2011.
