KOCHI: The Malayalam film producers, on Friday, decided to observe an indefinite strike from Saturday onwards. The Kerala Film Producers Association had also decided to stop the production work of new films. Association president Siyad Koker said that the work of the ongoing projects would also be stopped.The producers decision was made after a meeting held with the office-bearers of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) failed to reach a consensus. The Producers Association had raised complaints that the FEFKA had violated the contract on daily wages and was not executing activities to reduce production cost. With film producers too joining the strike bandwagon, the Malayalam film industry has come to a standstill. The Film Exhibitors’ Federation and Distributors’ Association had already declared an indefinite strike.
