Five arrested for stealing 22 bikes

PUDUCHERRY: The D’Nagar police on Sunday arrested five persons and seized 22 motor cycles, worth Rs 10 lakh, that they had stolen  from various places in Puducherry. SP (South) T Bairavasamy said, D’Nagar police arrested Jagan, alias Jagadeesvaran (22) of Rettanai in Tinidivanam in Tamil Nadu  on January 31 as they found him possessing a stolen bike.On interrogation, Jagan disclosed that he along with Sundar, Iyyanar, Rajasegar and Dayalan stole six motorbikes from the D’Nagar and Mettupalayam police station limits. Following this, Dayalan (20) was also arrested.  The police team involved in vehicle checking on Sunday apprehended Sundar (21), Iyyanar (20), Rajasegar (19). The police team recovered 16 more motor bikes from them.Bairavasamy complimented the team led by inspector K L Viravallabane, SIs Balamurugan and Ramu.
