TIRUPATI: TTD chairman Kanumuri Bapiraju has urged doctors of the TTDrun Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled to serve poor patients with utmost devotion.Speaking after launch of the free joint replacement surgery in the hospital, he assured to provide support to set up new facilities proposed by hospital director Jagadish, including comprehensive spinal rehabilitation centre, the first such facility to be set up in the state and also increasing the number of beds and operation theatres, in view of the occupancy rate crossing 120 per cent.Complimenting the director and his team of doctors and other personnel for providing commendable service to the poor, the TTD chairman responding to the plea of MP Chintha Mohan said he would look into building coordination among TTD and government hospitals to ensure optimum utilisation of facilities for the benefit of poor patients.Chintha Mohan, who gave a detailed picture of the sorry state of affairs in the government-run SVRR hospital and maternity hospital, stressed on removing 'barriers' between the TTD hospital and government hospital for the poor.He also wanted the TTD increase its financial support to these hospitals.
