The New Six’s Kyungjun Quits Boy Band Ahead Of His Military Enlistment

Kyungjun, a member of the K-pop boy group The New Six (TNX), recently surprised fans by announcing his departure from the group. In an official statement shared on the group’s social media, it was revealed that Kyungjun will be enlisting in the military soon. After completing his service, he will officially step down from TNX, which will continue as a five-member band moving forward.

On October 23, the statement was released, which began with, “Hello from P NATION. This is a notice regarding THE NEW SIX and its member, KYUNG JUN. KYUNG JUN recently informed us of his decision to enlist in the military and to leave THE NEW SIX upon completing his service. After much deliberation, P NATION and KYUNG JUN have mutually agreed to terminate his exclusive contract. As of October 23rd, 2024, KYUNG JUN will be departing from THE NEW SIX.”

The note further read, “Thorough discussions with TAE HUN, HYUN SOO, JUN HYEOK, HWI, and SUNG JUN have reaffirmed their solidarity towards THE NEW SIX. We are sincerely grateful for the unwavering love and we kindly ask for your continued support and encouragement for THE NEW SIX’s new beginnings. Thank you.”

The sudden announcement has left the group’s fans disheartened. They took to the comment section of the post to share their opinions on Kyunjun leaving TNX. One fan wrote, “Tell me this is a joke. I hope he can find his dream. I wish you all the best in the world, Kyungjun.” Another said, “WHATT!???? I mean, I’m okay if he’s gonna enlist in the military but terminated the contract!!?? Nah bro, I just started stanning the new six.”

Whereas a third fan penned, “It wasn’t necessary, Kyungjun. You’re a talented idol and an amazing human being. We’ll miss your voice, dances, raps and sense of humour. I hope you still in contact with us, THX, who will always support all of you as a six-member group. I love you with all of my heart.”

For those who don’t know, The New Six or TNX was formed through the survival audition program Loud, organised by P Nation and JYP Entertainment. The six-member group comprising Taehun, Kyungjun, Hyunsoo, Junhyeok, Hwi, and Sungjun, made their debut in May 2022. Their first EP was Way Up.

The TNX recently released their non-album single, Fuego.
