PUDUCHERRY: The demand for professional  proficient in French is on the rise as  companies are approaching Alliance Francaise in Puducherry for finding such French speaking graduates. Both Indian and French companies are seeking more and more people who have attained proficiency at a certain level, said director of Alliance Fraincaise, Fabrice Mongiat to Express recently.  IT giants like Infosys, TCS, French automobile company Renault, financial company Société Générale  are among those companies that had approached Alliance Fraicaise, he said.In the past one year, 34 professionals  were recruited through the four job fairs conducted in Puducherry by Alliance Fraincaise for 10  such companies.  A total  of around  400 candidates appeared in the job fairs and 34 contracts were signed after interviews were conducted. With a lot of jobs being outsourced from Europe to India, the requirement for French proficiency has gone up. From statistical data analysis, to accounts, technological inputs, translation of documents are being outsourced.  Besides several French companies have established in India , while others including joint venture projects are being establishedSince the rise in demand, Alliance has been conducting courses to suit the requirement of the industries. Basically most companies require B1 or B2 level proficiency, where one can not only read and write but also communicate. The courses are designed for those with A1 or A2 level of proficiency, who could complete it within a year. But others including beginners could also take up by doing the basic courses at Alliance, said the Director. Alliance has also tied up with Navayuga Computers to develop the man power required and conduct the job fairs.Already in the current year four companies have approached Alliance for such personnel  so far. “I have planned to conduct eight jobfairs in the current year,” said Maurice confidently looking at the growing market. A rough target could be around 2000 French speaking personnel this year.
