Friday Release 'Shuddh Desi Romance': The young and the restless
Parineeti sees living together as a practical solution for busy couples who do not get time for each other.

New Delhi: The Bollywood box office will offer two very different flavours for movie buffs this Friday. Director Maneesh Sharma's 'Shuddh Desi Romance' is releasing alongside Apoorva Lakhia's 'Zanjeer'.

'Shuddh Desi Romance' stars a refreshing cast of Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and newcomer Vaani Kapoor.

Parineeti says that in the promos, she can be seen as a happy and bubbly girl, but in the film she is playing a completely different person. "I am a very sensible and sorted human being, probably more sorted than the other two (characters - played by Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Kapoor) with me. Very quiet, so you will see a new side of me," added the 24-year-old.

Parineeti revealed that her cousin and actress Priyanka Chopra is eager to watch the film. "Yes, my sister watched it (promos) and she really loved it. She is waiting for me to have a trial and we have also not seen the film yet. So, she is totally supportive."

Sushant Singh Rajput has become a hot property in Bollywood after the success of his debut film 'Kai Po Che'. 'Shuddh Desi Romance' has also been promoted well, "When we make a good film, then we want to tell everyone and want them to watch the film. So I feel promotions are as important as film."

Parineeti Chopra, who will be seen in a live-in relationship with her onscreen boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput in 'Shuddh Desi Romance', sees living together as a practical solution for busy couples who do not get time for each other.

"I don't think live-in relationships are different from marriage. Today, live-in relationships are more out of practicality," Parineeti told reporters in a group interview.

Giving a hypothetical example, she said: "I am an actress. If I get too late at work and if I want to meet my boyfriend, when do I meet him? Obviously, in the night. If I come back home and sleep in my place, people will say it's not a live-in relationship. It's all about our perception."

"Whoever is not in a relationship, even there pre-martial sex exists. I myself want to know why it is different?"

Although she supports it, Parineeti confesses her parents won't be able accept it.

"My parents are very orthodox, so I may get scared to do this because they will feel bad. But actually it is fine," she said.

Vaani Kapoor refutes reports that she had barged into producer Aditya Chopra's office and asked for a role. "I read somewhere that I went to the Yash Raj Studio, barged into his office with my portfolio and threw it down and said, 'So, what do you think of a three-movie contract'. That didn't happen."

There were even reports that Aditya spotted Vaani at a party, but the newcomer denied this as well.

"I wish that had happened. It would have made my life a lot easier, but unfortunately it did not happen. I had to go through a grilling process to meet Mr. Aditya Chopra. It took a lot of time and auditioning," she said.

"I was modelling and I wasn't really trying. I always wanted to do this, but I was never making an effort to go and give auditions at production houses. I never really tried, I guess I am very blessed that I met the right person, Shanoo (YRF casting director), at the right time and got this movie," Vaani said.

The film is up for a stiff box-office battle against 'Zanjeer'. However, we have seen two films simultaneously hitting the jackpot in the recent past. (With inputs from IANS)
