Gali has a surprise visitor in jail

HYDERABAD: Jailed mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy on Friday had a surprise visitor to his special room in Chanchalguda central prison. Law minister E Pratap Reddy visited the jail and interacted with several inmates including Gali Janardhan Reddy.“How are you ? Are you being treated well ?’’ Pratap Reddy asked the former Karnataka minister as he walked into his cell.To this, Gali replied with a smile: "Well, I am good sir and the jail officials are treating us well and providing all basic facilities.’’ Pratap Reddy, who was recently nominated as one of the members of the Prison Reforms Committee, which is headed by the Union home minister P Chidambaram, made a surprise visit to the Chanchalguda prison on Friday.Superintendent of the Chanchalguda prison Koneni Kesava Naidu told Express that it was surprise visit by Pratap Reddy. He visited the jail to have a first hand feel of the activities in the premises and facilities being provided to the inmates, Naidu said.
