Ganesha, the great one!

Lord Ganesha, who is remembered at the beginning of any auspicious task, is also a god who people like to imagine in different forms. It is for this reason that every year, during the Ganesh Chathurthi festival, different Ganeshas performing  various tasks are created. This year too was no different. On the occasion of Vinayaka Chathurthi, we present to you some of the Ganesha idols  that adorned the stands. These pictures of the idols of the Elephant god were  taken at a stall in Chromepet on the outskirts of the city. Several eye catching Ganeshas were on display and most creations drew admired glances from passers-by.  The image of the elephant god playing carrom with a mobile in one hand and a statue of the lord riding a horse were among the statues that were most admired. No wonder then that Lord Vinayaka is dear to scores of people.
