Girl falls to death from city bus

HYDERABAD: Footboard travelling in a jam-packed city bus proved fatal for an engineering girl on Tuesday. SR Jhansi (18), a first year BTech student of Srinidhi Engineering College, along with others boarded an RTC bus at Ghatkesar to go to Dilsukhnagar and from there to her home at LB Nagar.As the bus was overcrowded, Jhansi and a few other students stood on the footboard.When the bus reached Annojiguda, the driver suddenly applied brakes. Jhansi who lost her grip, fell down and came under the front wheels of the bus resulting in her death, Ghatkesar police said. Fearing the wrath of passengers for the death of the college girl, the bus driver fled after the accident.
