BHUBANESWAR: Train services were affected after a goods train derailed near Mancheswar railway station on Wednesday. Since the wagons of the goods train fell both on up and down lines, the movement of passenger trains was affected. East Coast Railway sources said the cement-laden goods train was heading towards the unloading point through the loop line when it went off the tracks at about 8.45 am. The derailed wagons fell on both the lines due to its positioning. This caused disruption in traffic and some long-distance trains had to be controlled. Falaknuma Express and Yeshwantpur-Howrah Duronto Express were controlled at different points whereas Rajdhani Express left Bhubaneswar on time. The ECoR cleared one line by 11 am while the second line was cleared by 2 pm. No one was injured in the incident.
