New Delhi: Google has introduced its next-generation Nexus tablet. Named the Nexus 9, this new tablet has been built in partnership with HTC.
Nexus 9 has brushed metal sides and features an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display. The Nexus 9 tablet will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of Google's mobile OS. One of the highlights of Android L is the new 'material design' that would create a consistent experience across mobile and the Web and will be the new Google-wide standard.
At its heart is the 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. Google has designed a keyboard folio that magnetically attaches to the Nexus 9. The magnetically attached keyboard allows you to type at different angles. It will be sold separately.
The new Nexus 9 tablet will come in three variants - 16GB WiFi model for $399, 32GB WiFi-only variant for $479, and an LTE-enabled 32GB model for $599.
The tablet will be available in either black or white.
Nexus 9 will be available for pre-order on October 17 and in stores in November.
Android 5.0 Lollipop, which comes on Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player, will also be available on Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10 and Google Play edition devices in the coming weeks.
