An Executive Engineer posted at Jaipur Municipal Corporation was on Sunday arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15 lakh, an official spokesman said.
The accused, Purushottam Jeswani, received the bribe of Rs 15 lakh from contractors for issuing work orders in his division-IInd covering Moti Dungari and Mansarovar zone here, the spokesman said.
ACB sleuths also recovered 42 letters of work orders worth Rs 16.5 crore from his car which he was driving from home in Shyam Nagar with the cash, he said.
During a raid at Jeswani's luxurious bungalow, one dozen ACs, home theatre, papers related to a number of commercial plots, shops, flats, one showroom in a mall, and a cash of Rs 2.71 lakh was seized.
A case under the anti-corruption act was lodged against Jeswani, he said.
