New Delhi: The Government has informed the Supreme Court that it plans to issue a red corner notice against Bharti Yadav, a key witness in the Nitish Katara murder case and sister of the main accused Vikas Yadav.
Bharti has not appeared before the court though several summons have been issued against her.
A Delhi court on Thursday reserved its order on a prosecution application to declare Bharti, a proclaimed offender.
The court also turned down the defence’s request that Bharti be examined through video conferencing.
On July 15, Bharti's father D P Yadav told the court that he met her at a function in London but refused to say where she lived.
The court on May 16 ordered Yadav, a former Rajya Sabha MP, to appear in person since Bharti's present address was not traceable.
Earlier, the Home Affairs Ministry had submitted that Bharti no longer resided at the last-known London address in their records.
Katara was kidnapped and murdered on the night of February 16-17, 2002 from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where he had gone to attend a wedding.
