Visitors to the Nehru Zoological Park will from now on have environment-friendly vehicles ferrying them through the park. Nine noiseless and pollution-free vehicles were flagged off by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as part of the week-long celebrations of the 58th Vanya Prani Saptah (Wildlife Week) at the Nehru Zoological Park on Wednesday. These vehicles will be a ‘green’ alternative to the private vehicles used by the visitors, which causes a lot of pollution in the zoo.
CM launched a 100-seater auditorium and a Bio-scope orientation centre hall which is equipped with LCD Projector, Screen, DVD player and LED monitor. The Bio-scope centre will disseminate information to the visitors on the animal world. The CM released a booklet on the tiger reserves and protected areas in the state and inaugurated the e-green watch project. The children who have won prizes in competitions conducted in connection with the Vanya Prani Saptah were awarded with prizes by Kiran Reddy.
