Gunmen kill 5 security personnel in Pakistan

Islamabad: Five paramilitary personnel were killed when gunmen attacked a check post in the restive Balochistan province of southwest Pakistan on Thursday, officials said.

The gunmen opened fire on the check post manned by Frontier Corps personnel in Sui area of Dera Bugti district.

Five Frontier Corps personnel were killed instantly, officials were quoted as saying by TV news channels.

The attackers escaped after the incident.

No group claimed responsibility for the incident, though such attacks are usually blamed on Baloch nationalist organisations.
