Silverstone: Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton was reprimanded by the stewards after making a late entry to the pit lane while Williams' Valtteri Bottas was fined €1,000 (£856) for pit lane speeding during Friday's second free practice session at Silverstone as per reported by www.gpupdate.net
Team Lotus were also reprimanded for releasing Kimi Räikkönen in an unsafe manner. Hamliton, who had clocked the fifth fastest time in the second practice run, ignored pre-event instructions to stay right of a bollard on the entry road, and was later called to a meeting with the stewards.
The stewarding panel then issued a statement explaining that Hamilton would only receive a reprimand as fellow drivers were not put at risk by his actions:
"The driver did not stay to the right of the bollard at the - pit entry as defined in the Race Director's Notes to Team Managers. However, as no other cars were in the vicinity the offence is not regarded as too dangerous and it did not impede another competitor."
