KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday dismissed the petition filed by R Geetha, Chief Examiner of Chemical Analysis Lab, Thiruvananthapuram, and joint chemical examiner M Chithra seeking to quash the chargesheet against them issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Thiruvananthapuram, in the case related to the alleged correction in the work book that included the examination result of the internal organs of Sr Abhaya.
Justice S S Satheesachandran dismissed the petition as the petitioners withdrew their plea. The court accepted the submission by counsel for the petitioners that they wanted to file a fresh petition. Last week, the court had asked the petitioners to approach the CJM court for adjournment of the trial in the case by a week.The Thiruvananthapuram CJM had directed R Geetha and M Chithra, the accused officials, to appear before the court on July 7 to serve them the chargesheet. The examination of the internal organs of Sr Abhaya was conducted at the Chemical Analysis Lab,Thiruvananthapuram, in 1992. The allegation is that the accused corrected the work book at the lab.
