HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday directed the senior officials concerned to permit all the HoDs (heads of separtments) in the state capital and Telangana districts to hire private drivers, data entry operators, private security personnel, etc. to minimise hardships to the public.
He also directed senior police officials to ensure proper security to the government staff and private properties.At a highlevel review meeting on the strike held at his camp office, the chief minister reiterated that the permits already granted for private vehicles like buses, vans, cabs, sevenseater minitaxis for transport of passengers without compromising on the safety of the passengers stay.

In the light of incidents of obstruction of Seemandhra staff by Telanganites, Kiran Kumar Reddy wanted police officials to deploy additional forces in all important offices and places including Singareni mines.

Meanwhile, energy officials informed the chief minister of the purchase of 1100 MW of power on Tuesday at a cost of about ` 10 crore from other states.

About 237 million units of power is supplied as against the demand for 268 MU (shortfall of about 31 MU) which is managed by imposing power cuts on the domestic sector during day time, oneday power holiday to industries, onehour cut to agriculture and unscheduled cuts to all sectors depending on grid frequency.
