In their efforts to promote holistic health care through alternative forms of healing such as acupressure, acupuncture, Reiki and Yoga, a free holistic health camp was conducted at the Vizhinjam People’s Hall by Santhigram Holistic Health Care & Research Centre, in association with the City Corporation, Vizhinjam panchayat and others, the other day.
The camp, which saw around 70 people being treated using these alternative healing techniques, is a regular undertaking of Santhigram held once in three months, according to its chairman L Pankajakshan.
The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Mayor G Happykumar, who called for the promotion of physical, mental and spiritual health among Keralites. Also present were District Panchayat vice-president Rufus Daniel and Venganoor councillor H Sukumari.
The Integrated Health Promotion Council, Vizhinjam Zonal Development Council and Venganoor Kudumbashree Area Development Society were the other organisers. ENS
