HYDERABAD: After missing it to Tamil Nadu in 2009 due to Telangana agitation, the state government is likely to host the 'Partnership Summit 2012' in Hyderabad in January next year.Union minister of commerce and industry Anand Sharma, who is also the chairman of the summit, has reportedly wrote a letter to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday informing him that the Centre is positively considering the proposal to hold the Partnership Summit in Hyderabad.The chief minister is learnt to have readily agreed to host the event and extend necessary support as the participation of a large number of international investors will make a positive impact on investment prospects in Hyderabad.The theme of the Partnership Summit will be 'New Age Innovation Partnership'.The government intends to showcase the huge potential for investing in IT and IT enabled services, tourism, culture and industry sectors in the state.The Partnership Summit is a flagship international investment meet organised by the ministry of commerce and industry in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).About 10 ministers from nine countries and over 1,200 delegates from 12 countries took part in the summit held in Mumbai.Last time that Hyderabad hosted the summit was in January 2003.Though efforts were made by the Rosaiah government to host the event in Hyderabad in January 2009, the Centre moved the event to Chennai apprehending Telangana stir.
