The IB on Friday issued a circular warning of a terror threat in Mumbai during the last week of January.
New Delhi: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) on Friday issued a circular warning of a terror threat in Mumbai during the last week of January.
The circular stated that the likely dates of a terror attack in the city are between January 22 to January 30 and an influential political figure could be the target.
The Mumbai civic elections, due on February 1, will also see the maximum number of political rallies, making high-profile politicians soft targets for terror attacks.
The circular also mentioned that women fidayeen could carry out the terror attack.
Security has been tightened post the alert and officials all the major check points in the city have been instructed to carry out thorough checks and frisk people, especially women.
