New Delhi: When we decided to come up with our own film ratings and top performers of the year 2013 awards, we little anticipated that this will get so much attention from our readers. We are thankful for your co-operation and participation, but it's not over yet, in fact, we haven't even reached the half way stage. We now need you more than ever.
In the Best Actor category, it was initially believed that more popular and visible actors have a chance to win the race with ease, but you proved us wrong, and we are really grateful to you for this. Not because we don't love those actors, but because this was the essence of creating IBNLive Movie Awards. We decided to take a different path than most of the film awards which are more or less based on popularity meter. We included those actors who stunned us with their performances irrespective of the budget and marketing of the film. And, now some newcomers are posing a tough challenge to veterans. But, as they say, it's not a wise decision to write off a veteran, the seasoned actor have kept themselves in the race so far.
We would request you to participate more freely and openly in the voting process because these awards are completely going to be based on your votes. We have promised you the transparency of the process and we will stick to our words, at any cost.
So far, the race to the Best Actor award is one of the most vehemently fought battles among all categories. Though Aamir Khan is in the lead, but the margin is not enough to make him rest and wait for the award. He has received 27.45 percent of the total votes. The man right behind him in the race is Irrfan Khan, who has got 27.17 percent of total votes. Surprisingly, the man who is making the proceedings tough for thse two veterans is a debutant. Dhanush's 'Raanjhanaa' performance is backed up by 26.27 percent. There is a significant difference between these three and Rajkummar Rao, who received 11.6 percent votes. Sushant Singh Rajput is trailing behind with 7.5 percent votes. But, you never know, the game can change any moment as Rajkummar Rao and Sushant Singh Rajput are gaining prominence with each passing day.
