In Kerala's Bonacaud, This 175-year-old Haunted Bungalow Is A Tourist Destination
In the early days, the haunted bungalow was a well-run and profitable business for the British. But after their exit from the country, it started falling into ruins.

In India, many buildings are often left abandoned by their owners. Some of them were made during the time of British rule. There are several stories about these abandoned mansions that have become popular among the locals. Locals often refer to these houses as ghost bungalows. One such bungalow is located 61 km from Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerala, in a place called Bonacaud. The name of the place is 25 GB Bungalow, and it is one of the most haunted places in Kerala.

According to reports, the haunted bungalow has been built around an estate that was built by the British in the 1850s. In the 1,414-acre estate, 110 acres of cardamom, rubber, cloves, cashew, etc. were cultivated. The rest were all tea plantations. The workers were brought here from Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

In the early days, this estate was a well-run and profitable business for the British. But after their exit from the country, it started falling into ruins. The bungalow in the middle became a centre of ghost stories. Even after the British left the country, the estate manager did not leave the bungalow. He wanted to spend the rest of his life here with his family. The ghost stories began when his 13-year-old daughter was killed under mysterious circumstances.

After his daughter’s death, the manager decided to shift to London. As per reports, it was found that those who stayed in this bungalow used to see a young girl roaming around. After that, many people came to stay at the place, but they all saw the same young girl roaming around.

For decades, people used to hear the screams and yelling of a girl from the bungalow at night. Many of them didn’t believe in the stories and still tried to live at the haunted estate, but they couldn’t stay there for long. Currently, no one lives here and it has become a popular tourist destination.
