HYDERABAD: An infant was reportedly stolen from a private hospital at Nacharam on Sunday by a woman leading to tension at the hospital.According to police, a woman from Tadbund in the Old City, Shameema, got admitted to the hospital and delivered a male baby on Saturday. On Sunday morning, a woman, aged between 25-30 years, clad in a yellow saree approached Shameema and told the latter that her sister was also being treated in the same hospital. Later, the woman, though resisted by Shameema, took the baby and played with him for a few minutes, police said.After playing for sometime, the woman suddenly disappeared from the premises. Shameema raised an alarm following which those attending her and the hospital staff searched nearby places but could not trace the woman.The hospital authorities informed police who launched a manhunt for the woman. Shameema got admitted to the hospital as her husband, Mahmood, worked in it earlier, police added.Auto-driver, teenager drown in Musi drainA 14-year-old boy and an auto driver, who tried to rescue the boy, drowned in the Musi drain at Chaderghat on Sunday. According to police, a group of children, belonging to Padma Nagar, were playing cricket in the area when the ball fell in a trench dug up to widen the drainage and Sk Feroze (14) tried to retrieve the ball with a bat but he slipped and fell in the trench. As he shouted for help, B Rangaiah (35), an auto driver of the same locality, tried to him and entered the waters unaware of the depth of the drain. The duo were shifted to a hospital where they were declared dead. Chaderghat police registered a case.
