Understanding of god: I think there exists a superpower and also fate that shapes our destiny. I never pray to god regularly, I don’t demand stuff from him, I don’t beg him for anything, never have. That is probably the reason why nothing worries me, nothing keeps me from believing that everything happens for good. I don’t understand why we need to break our heads over the unknown. Why can’t we be simple and think simple? Pilgrimage site: I have been to Haridwar twice. Radha Kund (Mathura District) happens to be one of the closest places to my heart; I lived there for a year. Although I am not the one who enjoys visiting temples regularly.I make sure I visit Kula Deivam (family deity) often with my family. What annoys me the most and keeps me from visiting temples are the people who crowd temples and religious sites to get their selfish needs fulfilled.Spiritual belief: Be a simple man, try and be honest. Make sure your words don’t hurt anyone. Words can hurt anyone, so be careful.I am trying to make a similar point through my work. People aren’t humble anymore, they don’t learn from their mistakes, they want to fight all the time. However, I am more than just happy to be alive.Spiritual practices: My spiritual practices include showing love and respect for everyone. That is what will take you a long way. This is how I practice spirituality.Spiritual experience: When I was about 13 years old, I pulled the rath (chariot) which was hooked on to my shoulders during the lord Muruga Chariot Festival. It was physically demanding, but I managed to do it. The surprising bit was, I never suffered an infection and the wound was healed within three days of the event. Soon after, people thought I was something else, god perhaps. But I refused to agree with them, and said ‘I am not as great.’ (Srinivasan is a sculptor and the executive board member of the Lalit Kala Akademi)
