Senior Congress leader and currently panchayat raj minister
K.Jana Reddy created a record of sorts on Friday by holding ministerial post
for a longest period of 14 years and 11 months in the state. He broke the record of former chief minister Kasu
Brahmananda Reddy who served as minister for a period of 14 years 10 months and
28 days. While Brahmanada Reddy also held the chief minister’s post, Jana Reddy
has served only as a minister during this period. In a chat with scribes at the Secretariat, Jana Reddy
expressed satisfaction over his long political career. He made it clear that he
had never resorted to group politics to grab chief minister’s post. “Whatever
posts I got, I got them because of my individual ability,” he said.In an indirect reference to the Congress high command moves
to effect changes in the state Congress leadership, Jana Reddy said that if
anybody felt that the performances of the chief minister and the PCC chief were
not up to the mark, then one should see that the incumbents worked to the
satisfaction of all.
