JIPMER official stabbed in bar

PUDUCHERRY: In what appears to be a case of mistaken identity,  a JIPMER official was stabbed by a man at a bar, here on Friday. According to Dhanvantri Nagar police, Rajendran (57), a senior social scientist with the JIPMER hospital, was stabbed in the neck by Felix (29), at the bar. Felix had quarrelled with a man the previous day and was beaten up on Thursday evening. On Friday morning, he was having a drink when he chanced upon Rajendran and mistaking him to be the person who had beaten him up, Felix stabbed him in the neck with a knife. Rajendran was rushed to the JIPMER hospital and was operated upon. Felix, who had been cleared of a murder charge in a previous case, was arrested.Further investigation is on.
