On the other hand, LoC Trade leadership say that such incidents are not new as few months back police seized vehicle containing same contraband items worth crores but no action was taken. Tariq Khan, President Salamabad Chakoti Trade union said, "We met IGP then, he fully assured us that culprits will be made public and all the information will be given to the press".
However, till date no report has been made public. Khan further added that the authorities were not committed to preventing such incidents.
A similar concern has also been raised by Salamabad-Uri trade union. Hilal Turkie, general secretary of the Salamabad-Uri trade union had stressed upon the measures to stop such incidents which bring shame to the entire trade community and the society at large.
Speaking to Mumbai mirror Hilal Turkie said "such incident must be condemned at every level and the same has brought bad name to the cross LOC trade."
