Srinagar: The cross-Line of Control bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for a week over the arrest of a truck driver from PoK following recovery of drugs from his vehicle.
"The cross-LoC bus service resumed this morning from both the sides," Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Talat Parvaiz said.
Pervez said 10 people, including three PoK guests and seven Kashmiris crossed LoC from this side to Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). 40 people including 28 Kashmiri returnees and 12 new guests arrived in the bus from PoK, he said.
The Deputy Commissioner added that the bus service will ply normally from tomorrow. The service was suspended on February 9 over the arrest
of a driver from the other side of the LoC following recovery of narcotics from his vehicle.
The cross-LoC bus service was started in April 2005 as part of confidence building measures between India and Pakistan to allow the divided families living on either sides of Line of Control to meet each other.
