Baramulla: The Indian Army surrounded and killed three terrorists while they were trying to infiltrate into India through the Tootmaar Gali area in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Combing operations is still underway.
"It took place last night at 10:30 and was almost at the Line of Control in the area called Tootmaar Gali, three terrorists were gunned down and their weapons were recovered. The search is currently in progress," Lieutenant General Subrata Saha said.
This is the third infiltration bid foiled by the army in two weeks.
"As soon as the infiltrators crossed to this side of the LoC, they were challenged," an army official said.
Three soldiers and a militant were killed in a failed infiltration bid on May 25 in Tangdhar sector while four militants and a civilian were killed in the same area earlier this week.
