KOCHI: Reiterating his stand that Chief Whip P C George’s complaint against a judge who had ordered a further probe into palmolein case was unconstitutional, Congress leader V D Satheeshan said it was an encroachment on the powers of the Judiciary.“There should be a check and balance of Judiciary, Executive and Legislature. The Judiciary has its own privilege and one cannot encroach into its authority,” he told ‘Express’.Stating that there was no politics in his arguments, Satheesan said he had only stated it in a purely legal and constitutional way. Pointing out that there were remedial measures in the Criminal Procedure Code to rectify the orders, he said the order had been revised in many cases. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy could have approached the High Court against the Vigilance Court order, he said. In his controversial letter, George had questioned the directive of the Judge to order a probe into the alleged role of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the palmolein case.
