PUDUCHERRY: Former Education Minister PML Kalyanasundaram (34) has moved the Judicial Magistrate Court at Tindivanam for bail after he was chargesheeted in the examination fraud case by the Villupuram Crime Branch on Tuesday.Advocates Balamurugan and A Bakthavachalam filed the bail application on his behalf on Wednesday. This is required as per the Supreme Court order on his anticipatory bail.Kalyanasundaram’s anticipatory bail, granted by the Supreme Court, will be in force till the case is chargesheeted. Now, he would require bail till the conclusion of the trial. However, the hearing on his bail petition will come up on Monday before the Judicial Magistrate II, as the Judicial Magistrate I is on leave. The other two co-accused M Rajnikanth, a clerk in the Office of the District Education Officer (DEO) and exam hall supervisor P Adhavan had obtained bail from the Villupuram Sessions Court after surrendering in the court. As per the chargesheet filed by the VCB, he has not been found guilty of impersonation by using a proxy to write the SSLC supplementary examination at the Tagore Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Jayapuram in Tindivanam on September 29. As per the forensic expert opinion, the sample signature given by Kalyanasundaram matched with that on the answer script.Kalyanasundram, a school dropout, has however been found guilty of conspiracy, malpractice and fabrication of records for which he would tried in court.
