ANANTAPUR: Kamireddypalle village in Dharmavaram mandal has been the hotbed of faction feuds for the last two decades, due to differences between Congress leader Kamireddy Sudhakar Reddy and Nagoor Hussain, a follower of slain TDP leader Paritala Ravi.
Nagoor Hussain left Kamireddypalle and settled in Dharmavaram, while his follower Narasimhulu was looking after affairs in the village. In 2006, Nagoor was murdered by his rivals and since then Narasimhulu is leading Nagoor's group and active in TDP politics in the region. When the Congress retained power in 2009, Narasimhulu went underground and was reportedly given shelter in Paritala Ravi's native village of Venkatapuram. Two months ago, Narasimhulu and Sudhakar Reddy's group met and entered into a peace agreement. Since then, Narasimhulu has been living in Kamireddypalle. On Wednesday night Narasimhulu informed his followers about taking his daughter to the RDT Hospital in Battalapalle on Thursday for an operation. Assuming there will not be any attacks due to the peace agreement with his rivals, Narasimhulu had not taken any of his followers with him. When he understood he was betrayed by his rivals, he started running back to the village through fields, but was hunted down.

In the past, Congress leader Govinda Reddy was hacked to death allegedly by Sudhakar Reddy's group for control of the village. However, with the support of Paritala Ravi, his follower Nagoor Hussain held sway over the village. But after assassination of Paritala Ravi, Hussain too was murdered. Later, Narasimhulu's nephews, Kadirappa and Narasimhulu were allegedly poisoned by Sudhakar Reddy's men.
